Throttle mount and GPS interface make electric motor easier to operate

Torqeedo has some exciting innovations to complement their popular 403 Ultralight electric motor. The 403 is powered by a lithium ion motor that runs for hours with a blistering top speed while being lighter and smaller than a trolling motor and 12-volt battery. Last year, the company redesigned the motor and mounting to put electric motors on every kayak. This year they are offering more rigging options including a YakAttack throttle mount that will attach to a gear track to keep the control box in reach and out of the way.

They’ve partnered with ProNav to develop a GPS interface that can be set to control the motor’s direction. The computer can be programmed to run a route or set to hold the kayak in one position. Torqeedo encourages other designers to cook up rigging options and accessories for their motor. We look forward to more great accessories and rigging options to make the Torqeedo easier to install and use.
