Get a sneak peek at the new BAKraft now tougher than ever before

The BAKraft promises light, stable and nimble access to some of the remotest country. Paddling Magazine met with AIRE sales rep Pete Rockwell to take a tour of AIRE's popular BAKraft model, made in a bold new material for 2019.

For 2019, AIRE increased the tear strength and abrasion resistance of what is one of its most popular packrafts. The newly redesigned 10'2” BAKraft is manufactured with Vectran 400 denier ripstop fabric and welded seams, making the design stronger than ever. “The Vectran shell and urethane AIREcell inside makes the BAKraft the toughest self-bailing packraft of its size,” says Rockwell. It features drain holes in the front and back.

At just 12 pounds, the BAKraft rolls up into a super compact shape, about the size of a typical packed sleeping bag. The BAKraft expedition is designed to haul gear in the wildest places, and can pack more gear so you can go farther into the backcountry, says Rockwell.

The BAKraft also features an inflatable seat, thigh straps, and a series of cargo loops that can be used to attach gear. There's are also flip handles in case of an upset. Pump comes standard.
